چکیده
We demonstrate new methods for the control of DNA hybridiza tion formation of a loop with a protective strand is used to inhibit hybridiza tion and a DNA catalyst that opens the loop is used to catalyse hybridization A combination of inhibition and catalysis will allow control of the bonds formed between elements of a self assembled structure We also demonstrate a new class of nanomachine made of DNA and using the hybridization of DNA as a source of chemical energy to produce repeated movement

Hybrids in fishes and their identification using microsatellite DNA markers: A review
Among vertebrates, most of the fishes are unique for the lack of acrosome in their spermatozoa. The sperm enters the egg through micropyle of the egg. This has facilitated heterologous fertilization in many fishes and led to hybridization and polyploidization. Hybridization is performed both in the nature and domesticated fishes. Today, some of the hybrids have high growth rate than their paren...
متن کاملA Four Components, One-Pot Synthesis of New Imidazole Molecular Tweezers Based on 2,4,6-Triarylpyridine as Hinge Region
In the present study, some new bis-imidazole derivatives have been prepared through four-components condensation of 2,6-bis (4-aminophenyl)-4-p-tolylpyridine, benzaldehyde derivatives, benzil and ammonium acetate in presence of acetic acid. The present methodology offers several advantages such as good yields, simple procedure, milder conditions and the possibility of introducing a v...
متن کاملDNA Hybridization Catalysts and Catalyst Circuits
Practically all of life’s molecular processes, from chemical synthesis to replication, involve enzymes that carry out their functions through the catalysis of metastable fuels into waste products. Catalytic control of reaction rates will prove to be as useful and ubiquitous in DNA nanotechnology as it is in biology. Here we present experimental results on the control of the decay rates of a met...
متن کاملQuantitative high-resolution sensing of DNA hybridization using magnetic tweezers with evanescent illumination.
We applied the combined approach of evanescent nanometry and force spectroscopy using magnetic tweezers to quantify the degree of hybridization of a single synthetic single-stranded DNA oligomer to a resolution approaching a single-base. In this setup, the 200 nucleotide long DNA was covalently attached to the surface of an optically transparent solid support at one end and to the surface of a ...
متن کاملA synthetic autonomous rotary nanomotor made from and fuelled by DNA
DNA nanostructures are made using synthetic DNA strands, the sequences of which are designed such that they will self-assemble into the desired form by hybridization of complementary domains. Various structures and devices have been presented, including DNA tweezers, nanorobots and a range of linear motors such as bipedal walkers. Inspiration for the latter is drawn from naturally occurring mol...
